La Guerre

La Guerre (war) is another “okay song of the album. It travels through another galaxy of the Congolese rumba love universe. This time, the Libanga song talks about a lover who’s aware of her partner’s not-so-faithfull life. Although she’s aware of that, she still loves him and goes to war to keep him for her. Unfortunately, she has to complain that the concubines are better armed (by him) then she is.

This theme is a frequent one, especially in old Congolese rumba songs. You usually do not just give up, you fight back for your husband. I will once more refrain from commenting this one further.
